Alright. So I'm going to start giving this account a little more love. Probably wont last long. Recently, my artistic awesomeness has been focused on photography instead of digital artwork or 3d art. As a result, I have a mass of photographs (all awesome) that, over the next while, I'll be uploading. I'm sure you guys that have me on deviantwatch will all hate me for it. I'll do my best to do this slowly, so I don't completely max out your gallery watches with my shutter-bugging. As always, a more extensive collection of my artwork can be found on my website, which is constantly under construction, meaning that the previous statement may, a

Welcome, One and Alll!! *points* except you. Yea.. you know who you are. Anyways, This account doesnt have much on it at the moment, and thats because of the recent irritation ad dev's new contract you sign in blood whenever you submit something. So now, IM only submitting things i dont give a shit about, or things with watermarks/highlighted text run over it. So, you wont see anything that was created before January. For ALL of my artwork thats uploaded, please visit my website: http://www.seraphkitten.com Thank you.. and have a nice day. =)

Welcome to my art room. Notice: Due to an odd symptom of Obsessive Compulsiveness, Im weirdly hyper organized, so all sketches will be found in the scraps section, and all computer completed, or colored pieces will go into the deviation section. Considering the scraps section isnt announced as deviations are, if you are here, you should check the scraps section and/or check it whenever, there may be something new. However, usually anything that I sketch will end up being colored, so there probably isnt much to worry about anyways. This journal is a revamp of my artwork. hey how did you make your scrolls in this pic

[link]
Step 1: The Scroll Body.
>You need a structured cylinder that is very light.
>Cardboard and PVC are too heavy, I used this stuff: [link] found at local hardware store.

Step 2: Scroll Cover
>> I doubled up both fabrics, thats up to you. In the end, you want a rectangle of maroon fabric (width of the scroll) with a rectangle of green fabric (width about a foot less than the scroll)sewn to one side, and a rectangle of white fabric (same width as the green) sewn to the other. They should be as long as the circumference of the scroll plus how long you want the roll-out part of the scroll to be.
>> Wrap one end of the fabric around the cylinder and mark where it comes back around and hits itself (hopefully that makes sense). Sew the end to where you marked (pin it first to be sure it works) with the white on the inside. you should be able to now slip in the scroll body, and have a length of fabric trailing off.
>>Hot glue the fabric to the scroll body in some places to stop it from slipping around.

Step 3: Scroll Ends
>> I just cut some pieces of cylindrical Styrofoam (about 1/2" thick) to fit into the ends, covered the faces in white fabric (to simulate paper), slid them into the ends, and hot glued them in place.
>> I then took the lids from small cardboard cylindrical boxes and painted them black, and hotglued them to the middle of the white caps, inserting a few sewing pins to help keep it tight against the Styrofoam.

Step 4: The symbols
>> Use black paint to paint the symbols onto the roll-out part of the scroll. Its a good idea to trace out in pencil how you want them to look first.

Step 5: Velcro.
>> Attach velcro pieces to the scroll body where the end of the roll-out piece hits when its rolled up, and to the end of the roll-out piece itself, so when you roll it up, it will stay rolled up.

Step 6: The harness
>> I dont really have advice for this one. I just threw it together out of white fabric.

Hope that helps!
ok but what is the stuff in step one? is it like a cooper pole?
Ummmm Dryer venting? I'm not entirely sure...
If you wander around a Home Depot or hardware store you'll find it.
Its very lightweight, and scrunches together and pulls apart like an accordion. =)
